On January 2nd, 2024 I conducted a session on CPR and First Aid in the Lakshmi Narayana School (LNS) in Tamil Nadu, India. I was able to support both students and teachers in recognizing the importance of learning CPR and first aid. Witnessing the genuine enthusiasm of both groups was truly inspiring, with numerous students and teachers enthusiastically approaching the stage to personally try out and practice the skills. The connections I formed and the support I received from the teachers through this experience draw me to continue to connect with this incredibly encouraging community in the future. The event consisted of around 140 attendees, including teachers, teacher's assistants, and students from grades 6-10. I would personally like to thank Chandra Ayyamma, Rohini Periamma, and the staff for this experience on my part, and for being able to make a direct impact and meet so many new wonderful people. I hope the students, through their active participation, not only grasped the importance of CPR and First Aid but also discovered the inherent value of considering careers in biology and medicine.
